Animals on film

Spitalfields City Farm is situated in the heart of the East End of London and is conveniently located to provide a local animal hire service for film and tv producers as well as for magazine shoots. We have a range of friendly and unusual looking farm animals- inlcuding rare breeds of sheep and goats and chickens. We also have a donkey and pony who have already featured in many things including CBEEBIES and The Sun newspaper. There are a range of smaller pet animals- rabbits, guinea pig and ferrets and we have chicks and lambs in the spring time.

We offer a tailored service to meet our clients needs from locations, timings, animal handling and also can provide a range of farmyard accessories such as straw and farming tools.

New for 2014, Taste of Autumn marquee a chance to sample and use some unusual vegetables, including Capel’s crop of chillies, in dishes in the Terrace Restaurant

 

Plus, if you’re proud of your jam or think your chutney is a force to be reckoned with then this is the time to put it to the test and enter Capel’s local preserve competition for the tastiest and most original homemade jam, chutney or jelly. There will also be local and Capel-grown produce available to buy.

Congratulations to the Zimbabwe Association and Spitalfields City Farm - A Successful Collaboration!

Ocotber 2013 Author and broadcaster Chris Baines presented The Zimbabwe Group with their Group volunteer Award from Garden Organic's Master Gardener programme last Saturday at their National Volunteer conference. The Zimbabwe Association  have been working closely with the farm to maintain the demonstration plot for the Sowing New Seeds project.

Fantastic crops such as African White Maize, Covo, Rugare have been grown from Africa; Lab Lab, Yard Long Beans, China Beans, Kodu,  from Asia; Chocho, Broad Leaved Thyme and Callaloo from the Carribbean and much much more.

Come down and learn how to save seed from many of these crops and get involved in garden Organic's Heritage Seed Library programme on Weds October 16th 11-3pm.
