Thank you everyone at Spitalfields City Farm!

For an unforgettable summer. My son left home every morning in the past few weeks full of excitement and anticipation. He came home absolutely knackered, but happy and looking forward already to the next adventure. I've rarely seen him as thrilled as after the woolly workshop, where you transformed the tree hut into a knitting bomb. The city farm is a treasure, a piece of wilderness in the heart of one of the most builtup areas in the city. We live in Brick Lane, and my son rarely gets to leave the city or even see a real life tree, apart from the Saturdays spent at the Young Farmers Club, and your wonderful summer play scheme. You make a real difference to my child's life, and I am grateful. You help children who grow up in vulnerable circumstances flourish, give them a place to get dirty and experience wilderness in the real sense of the world: learn to be confident, trust their own judgements, build their own relationship to nature, without being constantly cuddled or controlled by adults. My son loves your world.
