Why we love OUR Hens
Our main chicken flock are ex-commercial layers. They come to us from farms where they are kept until they are 72 weeks of age, when egg production starts to decline. These lucky hens were saved from slaughter by the British Hen Welfare Trust and will live out the rest of their days here at Spitalfields City Farm. They continue to lay a steady supply of eggs, which we sell in our Farm Shop.
