Sprucing Up for Spring

Farm Spring Clean 2021

Farm Spring Clean 2021

In advance of our City Farm re-opening our doors again to the public, a small army of (socially distanced) volunteers came together over the weekend to give Spitalfields a thorough spring clean.

During the day over 50 adults and children, scrubbed, weeded, dug, shifted manure, cleaned, and generally tidied up. But we didn’t just stop there, we also built new storage units for our potting compost, replaced shelving in the Farm shop, and whipped out the paint brushes for a fresh splash of colour.

The Farm is now looking at its very best! And it was wonderful to know that our little piece of the City was giving our fellow Londoners a chance shake off months of hibernation and video chats for some physical activity, laughter and a few cups of tea among friends - all with the common goal of getting Spitalfields City Farm ready for Visitors!

Many thanks for everyone who gave up part of their weekend to help us out. It was a fantastic effort and so much appreciated.

On behalf of our Staff and Animal Friends - I wish to say:
We look forward to welcoming everyone back!
