Alpona art is a traditional form of Bengali folk art - this is the second of three workshops, and all are slightly different so children are welcome to attend just one or all three.

Children will get a chance to draw and paint onto canvas! We will begin painting the Alpona designs on fabric. Husna will demonstrate how to mix paints, starting with primary colours to create secondary colours. Participants will also learn techniques such as how to hold brushes properly and which types of brushes are best for different effects. Children will be encouraged to work together as a team.

This is a wonderful, calm and relaxed workshop for children. Adults will need to remain on site during the activity but don’t need to supervise (though are welcome to join in!)
